Description
The title of my work is "bonjour." I am portraying the reality that artists in the modern world are forced to create under any circumstances. The bathtub, usually a symbol of water and relaxation, here represents a reality from which there is no escape. In the tub, with my laptop on my lap, I continue to work. Being submerged in water doesn't stop the obligation to create; even in the water, I must remain productive.
When I look around, I see colorful details, scattered objects, slices of pizza, drinks, and toys. All of these items reflect the constant stimulation and consumption in the modern world. The lines between work and personal life are becoming increasingly blurred. It's possible, and sometimes necessary, to work at any time and place.
I named the piece "bonjour" to symbolize the beginning of a new day. But this morning doesn't signify rest or relaxation. It's an awakening to a new workday, to productivity. In fact, I’m reflecting a mind that never truly stops, one that is constantly forced to create.
In this piece, I express the pressure, irony, and inescapability that modern artists face through colors and objects.
